Guidance on coffee types
Roasted Coffee Beans ...
For Coffee Machines with Bean Grinders:
The process behind making a good coffee blend is known as #39;Coffee Cupping#39;, the art of identifying the constituent tastes and aromas of as yet unblended coffee beans.
The art here being to measure key aspects of each batch of coffee bean#39;s taste, specifically the body (the texture or mouthfeel, such as oiliness), sweetness, acidity (a sharp and tangy feeling, like when biting into an orange), flavour (the characterestics in the cup), and the aftertaste left behind once the coffee has been drunk.
From there a skilled Coffee Taster will determine the mix of each bean type, and the degree of roast each bean type requires, to produce a finished roast coffee bean blend of consistent qualities, batch after batch after batch.
Pre-Ground Coffee ...
For Coffee Machines without Bean Grinders:
Different types of coffee machine (Espresso, Perculators, Pour-Overs, Caffetieres, Vending Brewers, etc) use different methods to extract liquid coffee from coffee beans.
The coffee bean grind, on a scale of fine to coarse, is, of course, an absolutely essential factor in any coffee machine#39;s extraction process.
Choosing the correct grind of coffee is therefore critical if you want to experience coffee from your coffee machines at it#39;s absolute best, every single time.
Freeze Dried Coffee ...
For Coffee Machines without Coffee Brewers:
Instant coffee is, of course, in fact made from liquid coffee. Whole beans are roasted, ground and brewed before they start their journey to becoming instant. What makes coffee instant is when all the water is removed from the brewed product, leaving behind dehydrated crystals of coffee. To make it coffee again, you just add water.
Cafexpress are working on a freeze dried water product to go with our freeze dried coffee range, but without success ... so far.
